Application Note - Stadium Ticketing Machine

Whether a stadium or venue is being used to host a sporting event, convention or trade show a reliable and secure ticketing solution needs to be implemented to ensure ticket revenues can be effectively collected and monitored in a user-friendly way that is convenient to customers. A typical ticketing solution will allow a person to select a ticket, either insert cash into the machine or swipe a debit or credit card and have the payment processed through a remote billing / banking system. Following this the ticket or card needs to have a data written to it or be dispensed, and if required a receipt printed. To meet the functional and connectivity requirements of an interconnected ticketing solution the JetBox 8210 is the ideal embedded platform due to its robust design, compact form factor, reliable RISC processor and multitude of interfaces for connection to PoS terminals, ticket printers, ticket dispensers, coin and cash counters and wide area networking for payment validation.

The ruggedised compact design makes the JetBox 8210 series suitable to be mounted in a turnstile cabinet. The ultra reliable RISC processor technology provides the performance and reliability required for the orderly flow of event attendees. The serial device server and digital inputs and outputs allows for connectivity to the barcode / magnetic stripe / RFID card / Token reader and the turnstile mechanism controller. The four Ethernet (PoE optional) allows multiple IP cameras to be connected for monitoring the crowd and cascading the JetBox platforms inside the turnstiles, saving on cost associated with cabling.
